3 WORLDS WE WANT TO BRING TO LIFE.

As a design team, we dive into any project that resonates with us. At Koncept, we’ve built a reputation for crafting edgy, unforgettable immersive experiences. When a client approaches us with an idea they’re passionate about, we jump straight on board and bring their vision to life.
But what if the roles were reversed? What if we chose the next world to create and unleash into the immersive landscape?

Every creative has those pet projects. The ideas that won’t leave your head, the ones that keep you up at night. We’re no different. We have hundreds of them swirling around, waiting for the right moment (and the right partner) to be realized. We could talk about them all day, but for now, here are just 3 worlds we want to bring to life:
1. Dystopia
“Dystopia” is a huge umbrella term, which is exactly what makes it so captivating. Everyone has an idea of what a dystopian world might feel like, but until you step inside it, you can’t truly know what secrets it holds or what story it’s telling.
The most powerful dystopian narratives come with rich backstories:
Why is the world like this?
What happened in the past?
Who are the key players, and what do they stand for?
The writing prompts for a world like this are endless. We love dystopias because they have edge. They can be whimsical or even funny, but there’s always a darker side lurking beneath the surface. Sometimes it seeps through the cracks in subtle ways, making the audience question their reality. Other times, it hits them from the outset.
Designing a dystopian world means every element matters: the colour palette, the lighting, the tech, the architecture, the costumes... or their absence of any of the above.
Everything works together to captivate the audience.
Theatre lovers, gamers, and movie buffs, the people who devour narrative and crave deeper meaning, are the perfect audience for a world like this. We already have several dystopian concepts we’re dying to build… but for now, we’re keeping them under wraps until we find the perfect client to unleash them with.
2. 80s Sci-Fi
What a fun world this is! The 80s are having a cultural moment, with a wave of nostalgia flooding movies, TV, and attractions. But despite the resurgence, there’s still so much unexplored potential, and we see plenty of gaps waiting to be filled.
Think neon colours, synth-heavy soundtracks, chunky tech, and a playful sense of optimism. Done right, this is the kind of world you can’t help but smile and bounce along to. But the key phrase here is "done right". It’s easy to go overboard and drown the experience in references, turning nostalgia into noise.
The trick is in momentum design: carefully choosing the highs and lows, letting the showpieces sing, and giving the audience time to breathe everything in. That’s where the sci-fi element comes in. Add space, futuristic tech, or even extraterrestrial antagonists, and suddenly the stakes soar. Even in a light-hearted setting, the sense of agency is real. The audience has to explore, engage, and be part of it. They simply can't help it.
Executed well, an 80s sci-fi world is pure joy. It would be challenging to pull off (Don't get us wrong, we love a challenge), but oh-so rewarding for both creators and guests alike.
3. The Witch Trials
Okay, we’ll admit it: we love dark themes. And nothing beats a story with a sprinkle of truth (See our production of The Acid Bath Murderer Live Experience!).
The Witch Trials are one of those real historical events that practically beg to be reimagined. The experience could lean into haunting historical accuracy, walking guests down the chilling path of what really happened. Or it could pull from folklore, legends, and horror, weaving an entirely fictional tale into an already established world.
The beauty of this theme is that you don’t need to spend time explaining witches or their supernatural lore. Audiences already get it, no exposition needed. That gives the creative team the freedom to craft a compelling, original plot that hits hard.
From a design perspective, the Witch Trials are a dream canvas for powerful scenes and effects. Horror has always pushed live special effects forward, delivering some of the most jaw-dropping moments in theatre and immersive entertainment. To make this work, the designers need precise knowledge of anticipation, a deep understanding of fear psychology, and a seamless blend of character work and technical wizardry.
This world is built for thrill-seekers. And if the Halloween market tells us anything, it’s that there’s no shortage of them lining up for a scare.
Ready to Build One of These Worlds?
These three ideas are just a glimpse into the creative vault. Market trends show huge opportunities for experiences like these, not just for commercial success, but for innovation and truly standout design.
So… does your location-based entertainment venue have a home for one of these worlds? If so, we’d love to help you bring it to life. Let’s craft something unforgettable together.
